On the evening of Monday, September 29, 2025, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dok Sopha, Rector of the National Defence University, held a virtual bilateral meeting with His Excellency Major General Jeannot Boucher, Commander of the Canadian Defence Academy. The meeting addressed the following matters: - A courtesy call and introductions, noting that His Excellency Major General Jeannot Boucher has recently been appointed as Commander of the Canadian Defence Academy, succeeding His Excellency Major General Denis O'Reilly, who will take up new responsibilities. - Updates on the progress of preparations for the 27th ASEAN Regional Forum Heads of Defence Universities, Colleges, and Institutions Meeting, which Cambodia will host and co-chair with Canada. - Exploration of opportunities for expanding future cooperation, including the possibility of inviting the Commander of the Canadian Defence Academy to deliver a lecture at the National Defence University. It should be noted that from November 18–21, 2025, the National Defence University will host and co-chair with Canada the 27th ASEAN Regional Forum Heads of Defence Universities, Colleges, and Institutions Meeting, with the participation of 27 countries.
