The 30th anniversary of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS)

September 16–19, 2025 — With the permission of His Excellency General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, and at the invitation of his American counterpart, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dok Sopha, Rector of the National Defence University, attended a workshop celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) in Hawaii, USA. The objectives of the workshop were to: - Identify practical actions to enhance the quality of education at DKI APCSS and strengthen the network of alumni who have studied at the center. - Gather feedback from credible sources on increasing resilience in line with current and future U.S. defense policy and regional security trends in the Indo-Pacific. - Identify measures to strengthen resilience with partner countries to resist coercion and malign influence from external parties. Before safely returning home, His Excellency the Rector also met with the Director of DKI APCSS and exchanged souvenirs, including a Khmer scarf representing national identity.
